Paris is divided
into 20 arrondissements, or administrative districts, which are
known simply by number. If you're going to spend much time in
the city, you'll want to have some understanding of the
arrondissement system, which is used to specify location; higher
numbered arrondissements spiral clockwise around the city. In
addition, Paris is more informally divided into neighborhoods,
many stamped with strongly individual characters.
Below we have reproduced a map of
Paris that details some of the more popular destinations in the
city as well as the layout of the districts. The neighborhoods
of Paris tend to span several districts. Click on an area of the
city that you are interested in and you will be brought to a
page that tells you more about that neighborhood and the hotels
we offer that are located there.
